Q: How hard is it to transfer to a different major within the College of Engineering?
The Answer
Well, it depends whether you're undeclared in the College of Engineering (COE) or in the College of Letters and Sciences.
If you are COE Undeclared, then you should have no problem transferring to a major as it's expected. If you are COE declared, it really depends on the major. I've heard of people who were able to transfer pretty much into any program, but it can be difficult for the EECS major.
The good part is that a lot of the engineering prereqs are the same across all the engineering majors (Physics 7 series, Math 53/54, etc), so you can figure this out sophomore year.
